Singalila Range :: Trekking Itinerary

The Mt. Everest and the Khangchendzonga range Himalayan view trekking trial

A) Singalila Range - Mt. Everest and the Khangchendzonga range (7 nights 8 days)

Day 01

N.J.P., Bagdogra, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Gangtok, Namchi, Ravangla, Kewjing, Pelling, Yuksom, Sombaria, Mangalbaria, Rinchenpong, Kaluk to Uttarey Valley, 7600fts. Altitude (2-5hrs Drive) Overnight stay at Uttarey.

Day 02

Uttarey Valley to Achhaly (7800fts. altitude) 4-5hrs trekking.  Enroute – Kagyud monastery, Mangheem Thegu, Sherpa village, Laminey pokhari, chirping of birds, wild orchids and dense rhododendron jungle and view of mountain clad Kanchendzonga.   Overnight stay at nature camp.

Day 03

Achhalay  to Kalijhar (11,00. altitude) 4-5hrs trekking.  Enroute constant view of Mt. Kanchendzonga, wide and beautiful lawns inside the rhododendron forests between the hills and other very rich bio-diversity of Sikkim flora & fauna and herbs.  One can hear the humming of bees and chirping of birds with its Magnolia and rhododendron blooming is a remarkable trekking.  Overnight stay at nature camping.

Day 04

Kalijhar to Kalijhar via Phoktey danra/Singalila Peak (12,800 ft.) In the morning between  by 3-4 a.m one has  to move towards Phoktey Danra to get the amazing view of gentle sun rise and one can get the 360 degree of panoramic and mind blowing view of Mt. Kanchendzonga with its all dominant peaks within Sikkim and the other side the great Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lutsey and Dhaulagire range in Nepal. After the events at Phoktey Danra one has to move towards the holy peak  Singalila to get the blessings and back to Kalijhar  camp and overnight stay.  

Day 05

Kalijhar to Gairi (11,600 fts.) 5-6hrs. trekking.  Enrooted through the beautiful twin lakes of Chewabhanjyang  La Pass and the stiff rocky trail of Major Deorali Darna a breath taking view of Mt. Kanchendzonga  and its dominant mountain peaks in Sikkim and the great  Mt.Everest along with Mt. Makalu and Dhaulagiri range in Nepal can be enjoyed.  Pine trees and rhododendron forests with snow clods views makes the trail really an enjoyful.  Overnight stay at nature camping.   

Day 06

Gairi to Deorali(12,200-13,000fts. altitude) 6-7hrs trekking.  Enrooted downwards 360 degree surrounding view of snow mountain range of Mt. Kanchendzonga, Mt. Kumbakarna can be seen . Apart from the above a dense  Alpine forest and rocky trekkin trails give us the extra  unforgettable experience.  Overnight stay at nature camping.

Day 07

Early morning at camp site itself looms the great Mt. Kanchendzonga and after  the breakfast one shall  have the visit of a famous  Holy Cave in West Sikkim called as Neydham  (Nuepdichenphu). After the visiter the Holy place and the lunch one has to move  towards the Base Camp Uttarey enjoying  with  the bird eye view on the mountain  helmets of West Sikkim enroute through the  trekking trail of Ferek  Lepcha Tribal Heritage and Home Stay Village. Overnight stay at Uttarey.

Day 08

After breakfast checkout from Uttarey Valley to other destinations.
